Bats...

do you like or dislike them??? I wasn't that keen on them until today. We went on a field trip today and learned all about bats. There are mega bats only found in Asia, Africa and Australia and there are micro bats which we have here in Florida. Most bats only eat fruit, nectar, pollen or insects. We were able to see some real ones from both categories.

She explained to us the benefit of having bats around. This is a picture of a bat house that can be purchased or made and put on a pole or building in the sun for the bats to stay. I think I just found a summer project. We were biking Fort Wilderness campground (Disney) and I notice one of these in the tree. I didn't realize what it was until today. Can't wait to go back to campground to look at it a little more closely. Take a guess at how many bats can fit in this house? Give up?
