our school week....

We had a good school week. Luke is coming along really well with his Susan Barton reading system. We found out that he struggles with dyslexia (like me) and are so blessed that we can get him the reading program he needs. Here he is spelling with his tiles. He has come so far in the first two levels.
Faith is reading up a storm. We found a mystery series that she is enjoying. If anyone knows of some good mystery novels that are appropriate for her age (11-12yrs old) let me know. We also started a new history program. Her are some pictures of the kids making some sugar cookies of the Garden of Eden. Faith has some Adams and Eve's with flowers. Luke has Adam, Eve, Serpent and God.
We started 4-H this year. We have some great leaders who are helping us to understand what all 4-H has to offer. We have had 3 meetings and the kids are really enjoying it. There are 15 kids in our club. The kids vote on the name "Estates Green Thumbs". Estates because we live in the estates and Green thumbs because they are going to be doing all kids of things from animals, baking, photography and gardening. We have decided to let the kids each have a rabbit to care for enter into the fair. We are in the process of making cages for them and our leader is looking for the breed of rabbits the kids want.
Here are some pictures of this week. Faith helping label the parts of the rabbit.
Listening to the leader explaining caring for your rabbit. (Luke is in the hat by the wall)
Recreation time. Luke and one of the girls are the recreation leaders and have to plan the activities for the group each week. They were playing Sharks and Minnows this week. Faith is the secretary and has a lot of paperwork to fill out each week. Great job for her because she loves to write.
Stay tuned for more fun filled days at the Roman Empire.

For Such A Time As This said...

You may have these already, but Joshua and Bryce loved Red Rock Mysteries by Jerry Jenkins and Cooper Kids Mysteries by Frank Peretti when they were Faith's age. I enjoyed them too! :)
